The Alice in Wonderland Centre, Llandudno
The Alice in Wonderland Centre, based in Llandudno town centre, was a wonderful indoor tourist attraction, which took you on a fantasy journey down the Rabbit Hole and into the world of Alice in Wonderland. The exhibition was home to some of the life sized animated displays featuring some of the well known characters from the book. As a Visitor you were provided with a personal stereo that played a recorded narration including specially created sound effects. It also featured some of the well known scenes from the Alice in Wonderland classic story and It took approximately 20 minutes to complete the walk through journey inside the Rabbit Hole.
The Centre was one of the largest stockists and manufacturers of Alice dolls, costumes, toys, books and decorative novelties and the ‘Alice Curio’ gift shop had a large range of Alice merchandise on sale.
The brains behind the Alice in Wonderland Centre were husband and wife team, Muriel and Murray Ratcliffe.
Sadly The Rabbit Hole Llandudno Ltd is Now Closed. The Collection has been bought by Alice in Wonderland Ltd who are planning on resurrecting the strong link between Alice Liddell and Llandudno,with the help of Muriel Ratcliffe former owner and much loved friend, Watch this space!!
